VDSL, also called VASDL or BDSL, has data rates
higher than ADSL but over shorter lines. The downstream speeds are expected to
be at 12.96 (1/4 STS1), 25.82 (1/2 STS-1) and 51.84 (STS-1) Mbps for 4500, 3000
and 1000 feet of wire respectively. Upstream rates fall within a suggested
range from 1.6 Mbps to 2.3 Mbps.
