The Open Applications Group is a non-profit
consortium focusing on best practices and processes based on XML content for
eBusiness and Application Integration. The primary focus of this group is
integration related to Enterprise Resource Planning applications such as SAP®,
Oracle®, and PeopleSoft®. The technical work of the Open Applications Group is
divided into two types of projects, Content and Technical. The Content work is
comprised of defining the business processes, their messages, and the data
dictionary. The Technical work is comprised of XML design, development, UML
repository work, and application architecture. The design of the Business
Object Document (BOD) includes a noun, which corresponds to an object handle,
and a verb, which corresponds to a method. This design enables a supplier to
affect a virtual object wrapper around their system.
