MOF defines the common meta-model for all of Object
Management Group (OMG)'s modeling specifications. Thus, the MOF allows derived
specifications to work together in a natural way. The MOF also defines a
standard repository for meta-models and, therefore, models (since a meta-model
is just a special case of a model).
