Many
functions are sensitive to the time when data last updated. For these
functions, a number of mechanisms are available for handling this sensitivity.
These mechanisms include:
· Time stamping
data as to when it was last updated
· Flagging data as
“out-of-date” if it exceeds a specified time limit.
· Extrapolating or
interpolating data values from other more timely data
